OPEN WOUND

this series of works extends my previous practice, using flour as a medium to explore the shaping of the body through the repetitive and mundane tasks we often find ourselves obligated to do but do not wish to do. Within this context, the dough becomes another manifestation of the body; it can be loose, solid, fluid, ecological, and fragmented... This body of work encompasses a focus on and reflection on fragile subjectivity, attempting to find a point of reconciliation between care and repair, discipline and rebellion, tentative and fixed.

Interestingly, the chaotic layout of the RCA graduation exhibition, adds another layer of intertextuality related to the exhibition space to the "Open Wound".

You don’t realise an open wound exists until you touch it.
